Manage the Room Status Queue
The room status queue shows room status changes that are waiting for review or sync. Managers use it when staff continued working during connectivity issues or when queued room updates need to be reconciled.
Quick Reference
| Queue Item | What It Means | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Room number | The room affected by the queued update. | Confirm it belongs to the expected property or section. |
| Room status | The status waiting to be pushed or cleared. | Check whether the status matches what staff recorded. |
| Queued at | When the update was recorded. | Use this to decide whether the update is still relevant. |
| Reason | Context for the queued update, if available. | Review before clearing the queue. |
| Room-ready sync | Some room status changes also continue into the room-ready workflow after the queue item syncs. | Let the queue finish before you clear or rework the room. |
| OPERA OOS protection | Some inspection-driven room status changes can stay local when OPERA OOS protection is enabled. | Use the sync action in the inspection flow when the room should release OPERA OOS or OOO. |
| Push Queue | Sends queued updates when the hotel kept using HOME during a connectivity issue. | Use when the queued changes should still be applied. |
| Clear Queue | Removes queued updates when the hotel switched to manual handling. | Use only after confirming the queued changes should not be applied. |
Before You Start
- Room setup must exist for the property.
- Managers should understand whether staff kept using HOME or switched to manual updates.
- Confirm connectivity is restored before pushing the queue.
- Confirm the operational team agrees before clearing queued updates.
Enable OPERA OOS/OOO Protection
This setting is available only when the property has an enabled OPERA integration using the OHIP interface.
- Go to HOME -> Room Assignments Config.
- Under OPERA Settings, enable Keep OPERA OOS/OOO when updating Vouch room status.
- Save the room assignment configuration.
When enabled, Clean, Inspected, or Pickup updates can stay in HOME while OPERA keeps the protected OOS or OOO status. Managers can then review the room before syncing a later status change.
Review The Queue
- Go to HOME -> Room Status Queue.
- Review the room number, queued status, queued time, and reason.
- Confirm whether the queued updates should still apply.
- Click Push Queue if HOME remained the source of truth and the updates should be sent.
- Click Clear Queue only if the team handled the work manually and the queued updates should be discarded.
- Confirm the queue result message before leaving the page.
Manager Checks
- Use Push Queue for short connectivity interruptions where staff kept using HOME.
- Use Clear Queue for extended downtime where the hotel changed to paper or manual room tracking.
- If the queued item came from an OPERA room status update, wait for the sync to settle before deciding whether to clear it. Some room status changes also feed the room-ready workflow.
- If the room is protected as OPERA OOS or OOO, HOME may keep the new Vouch status locally until a manager syncs it from the inspection flow.
- If the page is offline or actions are disabled, reconnect before taking action.
Troubleshooting
Queue action is disabled
What you see: Managers cannot push or clear the queue.
Do this:
- Confirm the browser is online.
- Refresh the page.
- Confirm the manager still has HOME access.
- Try again after connectivity is stable.
Queue item should not be applied
What you see: A queued status no longer matches the room's real operational state.
Do this:
- Confirm with the housekeeping lead or duty manager.
- Check whether the team switched to manual handling.
- Clear the queue only when applying the queued updates would make room status wrong.
Room stays protected in OPERA
What you see: The room status updates in HOME, but OPERA still shows OOS or OOO.
Do this:
- Check whether OPERA OOS protection is enabled for the property.
- Open the inspection flow and look for the sync action.
- Use the sync action only when the room should leave the protected OOS state.
- Confirm the room status settles in both systems after syncing.
