Choose the Right Module
Use this guide when a team is unsure which product area owns a workflow.
Quick Decision Table

| Sell or request menu items, amenities, or services | Catalogue V3 | Catalogue V3 manages item browsing, checkout, orders, and payment behavior. |
Examples
| Scenario | Use | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| A guest asks for extra towels from the room. | HOME | The request is tied to a room and housekeeping fulfillment. |
| A guest books a spa treatment for 3:00 PM. | Facility Booking | The workflow depends on date, time, capacity, and booking status. |
| A guest orders room service and pays online. | Catalogue V3 | The workflow needs item selection, cart, checkout, order status, and payment handling. |
| A duty manager records a noise complaint for handover. | HOME | DM Log is designed for operational notes and follow-up tracking. |
| A manager schedules recurring room checks. | HOME | Preventive Maintenance handles planned checks and completion tracking. |
When Workflows Overlap
Some hotel workflows appear to fit more than one product. Choose based on the operational record the team needs to manage.
| If The Main Record Is... | Prefer | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A task assigned to staff | HOME | Deliver amenities, inspect a room, follow up on a DM Log entry. |
| A time-bound reservation | Facility Booking | Gym class, pool cabana, spa appointment, activity slot. |
| An itemized order | Catalogue V3 | Room service, minibar request, amenity purchase, paid package. |
| A handover note | HOME | Guest complaint, incident note, pending manager follow-up. |
Common Mistakes
- Do not use Catalogue V3 for facility reservations that need slots or capacity.
- Do not use Facility Booking for item ordering flows that need cart and checkout.
- Do not use DM Log as a replacement for task assignment when a staff member needs to complete work.
- Do not use room requests for workflows that need a catalogue cart, item pricing, or payment.
- Do not use Facility Booking just because a service has a location; use it when date, time, and capacity are central to the workflow.
Escalation Guidance
If the team still cannot choose a module, answer these questions before escalating:
- Is the guest choosing a date and time?
- Does staff need capacity or slot control?
- Is the guest selecting multiple sellable items?
- Does the workflow need payment, POS posting, or order status?
- Is the work mainly a staff task, room operation, or handover record?
Escalate with the answers, the property name, and a short example of the guest or staff journey.
