Legacy Room Request Flow
This page is kept for existing links and for properties that still reference the older staff-created room request flow. The current guest-facing assistance context is GEP Assistance Requests.
Use the legacy flow only when a staff member is creating a room-related request on behalf of a guest and the property has confirmed that this workflow is still active. For guest-started requests from the Assistance menu, staff should work from the Task Board.
How To Choose
| Situation | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Guest uses the GEP Assistance menu | GEP Assistance Requests | This is the primary guest-facing flow. |
| Staff need to assign or complete the work | Task Board | Staff handle ownership, status, notes, and completion there. |
| Staff create a request for a guest internally | Legacy room request flow | Use only if the property still has this process enabled. |
Legacy Staff-Created Request Context
The legacy request flow is for internal staff entry. A front desk, concierge, or manager may enter the guest room, guest name, request notes, item, and quantity when the property still uses that process.
Keep this flow secondary to GEP assistance because guest requests now usually start from the guest homepage and become operational work for staff on the task board.
Review Legacy Requests
- Go to HOME -> Requests.
- Confirm the property still uses the legacy staff-created request page.
- Search or filter for the guest room, request type, owner, or status.
- Open the request and review the guest details, item or service requested, notes, and quantity where applicable.
- Update ownership or status according to the property's legacy process.
- Close the request only after staff confirm the work is complete.
Troubleshooting
Staff cannot find a legacy request
What you see: A request was created internally, but staff cannot find it on the legacy page.
Do this:
- Confirm the request was not created from GEP Assistance and routed to the task board.
- Clear request filters and search by room or guest name.
- Check the selected property and date range.
- Confirm the staff member has access to the legacy request page.
