Create Room Requests

Room requests let staff send a housekeeping request for a guest room. Use this page when a front desk, concierge, or manager needs to send an item request to the housekeeping workflow.

Before You Start

  • Staff must have HOME manager access to open the request page.
  • Housekeeping request settings must be configured. If the item settings are missing, HOME sends managers back to settings before the request can be created.
  • The housekeeping item list should match the amenities or services the team can deliver.
  • Confirm how your team receives sent requests before go-live.

Create a Request

  1. Go to HOME -> Requests.
  2. Enter the guest Room No.
  3. Enter the guest Last Name.
  4. Add Remarks if housekeeping needs context.
  5. In Items, choose Select Item.
  6. Enter Select Qty for that item.
  7. Select Add Item if the guest needs more than one item.
  8. Select [Others] only when the request is not available in the list, then enter the item name.
  9. Select Send.

Good Request Practice

  • Keep remarks short and operational.
  • Avoid using [Others] for items that should be part of the standard list.
  • Send separate items in the same request when they belong to the same guest call.
  • Review request settings when staff frequently use custom item names.

Troubleshooting

Item list is empty

What you see: Staff can open the request page, but there are no housekeeping items to select.

Do this:

  1. Ask a manager to open request or housekeeping settings.
  2. Confirm request item settings exist for the property.
  3. Add or correct the item groups the team needs.
  4. Return to HOME -> Requests and try again.

Send button does not complete

What you see: Staff select Send, but the request is not sent.

Do this:

  1. Confirm Room No and Last Name are filled.
  2. Confirm every selected item has a quantity greater than zero.
  3. Confirm at least one item is selected.
  4. If [Others] is selected, enter the custom item name.
  5. Try again after correcting the highlighted fields.
