Configure Rev Booster and Promotions

Revenue Booster and promotions help managers surface offers while guests browse or review their cart. Use this page when a catalogue needs upsell items, cart suggestions, promo code behavior, promotional selling rules, or guest-facing banner content.

Before You Start

  • Confirm Revenue Booster is enabled for the merchant or property.
  • Confirm promotional copy, images, prices, discounts, and validity dates.
  • Confirm which catalogues and items are eligible.
  • Confirm staff know how promotions appear on order details.

Review Activation

  1. Open the catalogue detail.
  2. Check whether Revenue Booster management is available or whether the page shows an activation prompt.
  3. If activation is missing, confirm whether the property should have Revenue Booster enabled before building promotions.
  4. Do not create upsell item flows until the Revenue Booster state is clear.

Configure Banner Content

  1. Open Revenue Booster banner settings.
  2. Add or update title, image, description, and destination.
  3. Review translations if the property supports multiple guest languages.
  4. Save and preview the guest catalogue.
  5. Confirm the banner does not block the primary ordering flow.

Configure Cart Suggestions

  1. Open cart item suggestion settings.
  2. Choose the items that should be suggested when guests review the cart.
  3. Confirm suggested items are active, priced, available, and in the correct catalogue.
  4. Save and test by adding eligible items to the cart.

Configure Item Master Upselling

  1. Select the master item.
  2. Link eligible upsell items.
  3. Confirm upsell items have approved names, prices, images, and operating hours.
  4. Save and test the master item from the guest flow.

Configure Promo Codes and Item Promotions

  1. Open promo code or item promotion settings.
  2. Configure code, title, discount amount or percentage, validity, and eligible items.
  3. Confirm guest-facing wording explains the promotion clearly.
  4. Save and test a valid and invalid promo case.
  5. Confirm order details show the promotion or discount in a way staff can understand.

Troubleshooting

Upsell item does not appear

What you see: Managers configured an upsell item, but guests do not see it.

Do this:

  1. Confirm Revenue Booster is active.
  2. Confirm the upsell item is active and visible.
  3. Confirm the master item relationship or cart suggestion rule.
  4. Check item operating hours and catalogue visibility.
  5. Retest from the guest catalogue.

Promo code does not apply

What you see: Guest enters a promo code, but checkout does not apply the expected discount.

Do this:

  1. Confirm the code text and validity.
  2. Confirm eligible items are in the cart.
  3. Confirm discount amount or percentage.
  4. Confirm the promotion is active.
  5. Retest with a clean cart.
